RE: Stopping at Cracker Barrel

Have to say CB is one of our favorite places to stop and eat the foods always good and down home and you always get enough to fill ya Only problem I'm ready to eat and DW wants ta look around first but I reckon that's why I might be the captain when I'm at work on the boat But I'm just the Pilot when I get home Cause we both know who's the Capt. at home

RE: Newbie- advice sought

Basically, I am looking for mentorship/advice concerning RVing and my "50,50,50 Project"
There are a couple of "hiccups":
1. I don't have an RV & have never driven one, (am using a cane).
4. Do you think that someone might be willing to offer the use of their RV for this trip & perhaps even go along as the driver? Or, do you think that someone might donate their RV? (perhaps someone who has retired from RVing). If so, how might I locate such a person?
I do have a nonprofit organization, so could send you info about that if you are interested.
May mystery, magic, and miracles grace your path
I'm sorry and if you are sincere I wish you the best
But on the flip side I'm very Skeptical You make no mention of the nature or name of your organization nor do you give any names of publishers donateing also how do you plan to finance this little adventure People on this forum are good hearted good souled good natured famlily people and as bad as I hate to say it and I hope your not one but there are a lot of scammers out there You say you know nothing of RV ing yet you go to a RV forum to solicite a donation of an RV to deliver insperational books People Please Beware

RE: Need Suggestions oncampgrounds in Branson MO

We are staying at The Wilderness in about a week n a half for ten days they sell silver dollar city tickets and three park passes they also give a discount on camping with the purchase of season passes and offer a shuttle to silver dollar city every There are also several COE Parks around Table Rock and Tanycoma Lakes one of our favorites is Indian Point We prefer to camp a few miles out of Branson itself Less hustle and bustle but still just a 15 min drive from the strip in branson itself

RE: 5th wheel or TT?

Hi all,
We are looking at buying our first RV, getting a little to old and stiff for the tent. It is just the 2 of us, and we will only be going out weekends and for a couple of weeks in the summer. We have started looking at dealerships and are very overwhelmed. What is the first question we should be asking ourselves? 5th wheel or TT? Size? Price
Wisp
Just throwin this out there but have you considered a Pop Up even new with air and toliet facilities your talking a fraction of the cost of even a used TT or 5er their big down fall to me is they are like a tent in the fact if you takem down wet they are more work when you get home Personally we have a 34ft dbl slide 5er but I have been in some really nice popups If your realley set on sumthin larger my vote is for the fifth wheel

RE: A trip from long ago

I remember our first camper when I was a kid it was a homade popup in p/u bed with a tent on it We called it ol rusty and I was about 6 or 7 then we moved up to a Nimrod I think it was called it was our first pop up with beds but that was all from that to a starcraft pop up now that was livin a Ice box no fridge then, a table and sink and stove Later in their years Mom and Dad bought a Class C and used it often till Dad passed then slowly Mom found other types of vacationing more appealing My own family started with an old bunkhouse TT and are now on our 2nd fiver and we love to take our own grandkids Even. though I Luv all the luxuries we have now I wouldn't trade the memories of old rusty for anything Especially watching the mini explosion that happened every time Dad lit the ol Coleman Lantern (no electric then)

RE: Tell me where to go (midwest)

At Branson MO you can get a 3 park pass for 3 and 5 days pass is for Silver Dollar City Celebration city and I think its called Water World or sumthin like that several campgrounds COE and Private Silver Dollar City has plenty of rides both wet and dry an area called gyser gulch plenty of good music and food If you Google Silver Dollar City you'll get lots of good info also in Branson you can ride the Ducks DixieStampede is there plus tons of other stuff Silver Dollar city also has a campground with all the amneities and they have a shuttle bus that runs back and forth to the theme park every two hrs If you haven't been to Branson you won't be dissappointed Oh and one last thing about a hour or so drive on down into Eureka Springs Ark they have the great Passion Play it is fantastic outdoor play that if you come that far you shouldn't miss a couple other things you might Google if yolu decide to go there Bass Pro Shop Sprigfield MO the Shepard of the Hills outdoor play Dixie Stampede Branson area theater and shows I reckon you can tell but we go there a lot

RE: collapsed awning on 2008 laredo

I have a Carefree of Colorado electric awning and here is what I found with it. I know it won't help you now but when you let it out till it stops there is usually a sag in the fabric. Roll it back in a few inches and it'll tighten up and shed water. Thanks for the tip I'll try it out

RE: Rear kitchens, pros/cons

I suppose its mostly personel preference Our previous 5er was a rear kitchen Our new one is rear living Reaso for change it seemed more user friendly to have the kitchen and dining table in the center of camper easier to transfer food outside and DW said she didn't feel as cramped up being stuck at the stern end when she cooked so all our reasons for the change were convenience and preference weight distrubution was not a factor
